I've just started testing Version 2.5 on my Axim x51v. What a wonderful editor! My device is a PDA with no phone capability, so I changed the word "Phone" in the menu to "Send", and blanked out the items pertaining to phones. What's left now is "Send text via e-mail", and MobilePad is much easier to write e-mails in than the mailer's composition window.
One question: Under Tools / Options, it doesn't seem to make a difference whether Word Wrap/Font Size is checked or not, as those items are still available, even after a restart. Are they supposed to be disabled or eliminated from the menu when unchecked? I wouldn't want to disable those options, of course, because they're extremely useful, but I was just curious. |

The only reason that i removed the close button from the Windows Mobile Taskbar and added in the Vista buttons is because it causes race condition with windows mobiles when asking the user if they want to save un-save files before closing. Currently there are no config file that can modify the vista style icon behaviour. So to exit the program, you can either press on the red X vista style icon or select Exit under File menu. I would like to apologize for this inconvenient. ![]()

![]() The Word Warp/Font Size checkbox is to allow the program to remember your word warp state and font size when checked, will not remember when unchecked. Hope I answered your question.

Thanks! I discovered that myself a couple of hours after posting the question. ;-)
Now I have one suggestion: Since there is still lots of room on the menu bar at the bottom of the screen, perhaps you could add some small buttons for navigation that would make up for the lack of PgDn, PgUp, End and Home keys on many mobile devices. Used with Ctrl, that could also provide fast access to the bottom and top of a file. BTW, Hou Ming's File Dialog Changer is installed on this device, so I can access any subfolder with MobilePad, and needn't use a file manager to find files I want to edit. Thanks for the best text editor I've ever used on my PDA! |

![]() As for your suggestion, Some people might modified the name of those menu items to something longer then the default names. In this case it will push everything off screen. So adding toolbar button on the empty space with default names only works in some cases. ![]() Maybe what i can do to improve readability is to add a Reading mode.

True. Well, alternatively, there could be "Go to Top" and "Go to Bottom" options in the Find dialogue, or right on the Tools or Edit menu. Another approach is the use of keyboard shortcuts, such as Ctrl B for "Beginning of File" and Ctrl E for "End of File". Unfortunately, some keyboards don't have Ctrl keys, so the prior approach would work better.
But then, I'm no programmer, so you would probably have a more practical solution. My programming experience began in 1978 with Radio Shack BASIC, and ended in 1994 with QuickBasic for DOS -- my programs were primitive by today's standards! |

But it takes long time on first execution. I suppose it is because of .net framework. I personally prefer the notepad should be a fast and lite-weight executable. Anyway, keep-up the nice work. ![]() cheers
