realised modem I uploaded for HK is actually singapore. Creating HK one now and will re-upload for youPretty sure TWRP has modem backup in it, not sure about CWM. And/or download the modem zip for your current one. Far as my testing goes, flashing any N7105 modem will not kill signal as the hardware is the same, just may vary in results of speed etc
Pretty sure the uploaded Singapore modem it's from the latest LJ5 tar file, will verify when I get in front of pc...

DXALJ1 is the modem that came in the latest Singapore release, confirmed I have the latest off sammobile. It is out of the LJ5 release. N7105XXALJ5_N7105OLBALJ1_MM1.zip
By international version, I suspect you mean N7105XXALJ5_N7105ZZZALJ5_DNF - it's the only version without a specific country/carrier listed. I don't have it yet, as the links on sammobile seem to be dead for it. If anyone has the file, and can extract the modem & cache files, zip and upload I'll get it going as a flashable modem
There's only a few of the files that size. The reason for the file size is that not only modem.bin requires flashing, but also csc. As csc is being changed too, i've included the language files in system/VODB and system/sipdb folders as well - I figured if you're flashing a specific modem for a specific country, you probably want those files too.
I am working on cut-down versions with just the modem and csc files, it's just a matter of making sure no dependant files are missed for csc.
EDIT: I removed the language files and did a test flash, boot loop. So for now, language files stay

Cool thanks. I am assuming that best modem for Australia would be Optus one? I am with Telstra but that shouldn't make a difference I imagine.
It is identical to the Singtel one mate - same modem, same file size to the bit
The one I uploaded was the Singtel one as I had that already extracted, but I checked the M1 against the Singtel and identicalTelstra and Optus utilise the same frequencies for LTE, so should work great on either carrier - as well as Vodafone when they get 4G, as they will be sharing LTE towers with Optus. So in short - should work perfectly
That said, just because it's the only Australian modem does not necessarily mean it'll be the best on our networks! Same as the fact the South Africa modem isn't necessarily the best for everyone just because it's the newest. For me personally, I get far better signal/speed out of the optus one than all the other posted ones (tested them all of course) but that's no guarantee someone else in AU will have the same result.

no problem - you after a specific one or the newest? Newest by a day is vodafone, or the other 3 are TPH, TMN, or Optimus. Likely all are the same baseband, but probably varying csc
Hey bro, could you tell me how to pull the modem and any necessary files from the stock rom on the phone, I want to make a back up of the one that comes with the phone just in case.

16Uploaded are CWM flashable modems for some firmwares I have already downloaded. Thanks to artbab for pointing out other files were required to completely change modem (csc).
What the update zips do:
*deletes current CSC files
*installs new modem CSC files
*installs new modem
modem only file just installs modem!

Work has given me a Nexus 4, as they bought a bunch and rolled out for work phones. As such, I've sold my note 2. So, I won't be visiting these forums much anymore, as such, here's some info on how to do what I was doing (bloody easy as!)
(Windows)
download the firmware package you want from sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com
google "sgs2toext4" - download and place somewhere handy
download and install http://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/
download and extract one of my packages for a reference maybe?
So. Once you have the firmware zip, extract it to a tar.md5. Then, extract the tar.md5. 7zip will do it. You will get an error in 7zip, but it still does the job.
2 files you want are the cache.img and modem.bin. The cache.img holds the csc information and language files, and of course modem.bin is actual modem.
cache.img you need to then extract. Open up sgs2toext4.jar, then drag & drop the cache.img to the sgs2toext4.jar window. It'll convert it to ext4 file system.
now, run Disk Internals Linux Reader. Mount the cache.ext4.img file that the previous step created. You'll then see it in your list of drives. Browse into it until you see the zip file (one or two folders in). Right click on the zip file, save as. Save it somewhere handy. Unmount the cache.ext4.img, then close diskinternals.
extract the zip, and you have the contents of cache.img. Then just copy/paste files across to where you extracted one of my zips to replace files, and modem too. When you're ready to go, just zip the directory structure, and there you go.
If you're not really sure on any of those steps, i'd suggest NOT to do it at all. If you replace the wrong files into a zip and flash it - KABOOM!
If you're making a modem without lanuage files, do NOT include any files past what I have done. There's a db file in the system/csc folder that if you replace that, you HAVE to replace the language files as the db file points to them, and different firmware have different setups for the location of the language files.
If you're a linux person, well, still probably use the sgs2toext4.jar, but the rest of the stuff pretty easy on nix.
