Have you tried a forced flash with RSD Lite (sdl.exe)
  • you must put the SBF file into the RSD Lite folder
  • rename the sbf to a short name like abc.sbf
  • connect your defy with your computer
  • open cmd-line in windows, move to the folder of rsdlite
  • run sdl.exe -f abc.sbf -t 2

I had the same problem when trying to use ms2ginger kernel with CM9 quarx defy+ 330 build

What I did was download the original stock eclair rom
Boot into the motorola recovery console on phone, believe its the up volume on startup
Connect to PC
Ran RSDLite 5.4.4
Selected the eclair stock rom and let it do its thing
Took about 45min to an hour, but no more brick

I had the same problem a while back, if you rsd-lite don't recognized your phone, it might be that the battery is dead. One way to fix this is get another battery or strip a usb wire and wire that to the battery. Then rsd-lite should recognize it.
