DIY a LEGO Micro SD card reader for Samsung Galaxy Tab

Hi,

I recently put an USB OTG cable for Samsung Galaxy Tab and a tiny microSD card reader into a LEGO brick. This is the connector I use:

And this is the look of the tiny microSD reader:

I took it apart:

micro_sd_reader_front.jpg


And solder it to the connector:

USB_OTG_cable_microsd.jpg


Then, put it into a LEGO brick:

Here is the final look:

The top view of the connector:

Compare its size to a 5-in-1 USB memory card reader:

Please repost the pictures

It sound like an interesting design. The pictures however are not visible. I googled the thread title and an alternative link also had the images missing. Please repost them if possible.

how did u solder to the mmc. which pin with which cable?

good job!

i try it now with the micro usb cable..

    A while ago, I've made one for myself. It took one usb otg cable, two lego bricks, three card-readers (couldn't find the good one), some soldering, some glue and couple hours. Here's how it looks like:
