does not work on bell note 2 after the update to 4.1.2 should have done this sooner i guess.

Best thing to do is, go to ODIN flash the original 4.1.1 stock with supersu if you want. And then try the unlock code, and then unlock it, and then re-update the software with ODIN again to 4.1.2 or over OTA. Best part of linux is you can always downgrade and upgrade.

Worked on my AT&T Note 2 running stock 4.1.2

I had errors at first because I was a derp and didn't notice the " * " at the beginning of the code *#197328640#

Ya know the DMCA covers breaking encryption ... since this requires no breaking of encryption or other circumventions of the device other than a function that is BUILT IN to the device it actually nay not be illegal.

If this method was not there and a code was required then unlocking would be illegal, but saying unlocking this way is like saying clicking start->run-> and typing a windows system command is illegal.

I also have the 4.1.2 update on my Canadian i317M Note 2 and could not unlock with this method. I am new here in xda, could you please tell me how or where I can find more information on how to go back to the original 4.1.1 stock. Thanks very much.
