Because some of the devs involved in this ROM have also put a considerable amount of work into liquid smooth. So, instead of rewriting everything they've already done, they're forking from an old project to make things a little easier.

Love the ROM so far! With the release of 4.2.2, I'm sure we'll start to see the baked ROMs start to move over to it, but what's the usual time to make those type of transitions? You guys are awesome by the way!
