Usually, in the EU, it doesn't matter if you voided your warranty or not as long as the problem persists in the first 6 months after purchase, they are forced to fix the (hardware) issue(s) for free.
I don't know about the US.
If it's only something you notice, but you're not annoyed by, because it's not that bad, I personally wouldn't send it in,
because then you'll miss your tablet for 2 weeks, which is hell, believe me
