LedN Control V 1.2 BETA

Warning - BETA - use at your own risk
Warning - no warranty of any kind
Warning - this software may potentially lead to unexpected behavior of your device - use at your own risk

Changes:

1. Script code rewritten - now highly customizable

Remarks:

1. The attached version is optimized for LG GW820; partial compatibility is to be expected for most Windows Mobile devices.

2. Should you customize the script for other devices please publish the results in this forum thread.

3. Compatibility and customizations should by described at the beginning of the script - e.g. "#V 1.2 BETA (Dev: V1.4; customization: LG Expo GW820; compatibility: LG GW820, ...)"

4. LED[4] variable should point to the "battery charging LED" indicator

5. LED[5] variable should point to the "fully charged, externally powered LED" indicator

6. The major goal of the script is to provide visible LED notifications for upcoming events (reminders), unread sms/mms and missed calls regardless of the power state of the device.

LedN Control V 1.15 BETA

Warning - BETA - use at your own risk
Warning - no warranty of any kind
Warning - this software may potentially lead to unexpected behavior of your device - use at your own risk

Changes:

1. Minor bugs fixed
2. Further code optimization

Remarks:

1. FPLED variable should point to a LED (through appropriate LED ID) responsible for full power state notification (notifies when connected to external power source and fully charged).

LedN Control V 1.13 BETA

Warning - BETA - use at your own risk
Warning - no warranty of any kind
Warning - this software may potentially lead to unexpected behavior of your device - use at your own risk

Changes:

1. LED IDs now configurable (#LED ID Configuration section of the script - to explore LED IDs of your device use Ledup.exe diagnostic mode)
2. Minor bugs fixes

Remarks:

1. LED IDs and behavior:

a) LED0 is used to notify about upcoming events (also signals full power state while connected to external power source and fully charged)
b) LED1: missed calls (also battery charging from external power source)
c) LED2: SMS and/or MMS

The LED IDs should be configured appropriately for your particular device.

LG Expo GW820 example:

Quote:

#LED ID Configuration
#LED0 - Events; LED1 - Missed Calls; LED2 - SMS & MMS;
LED0 = "0"
LED1 = "1"
LED2 = "3"

"0" - green LED (blinking capable)
"1" - red LED
"3" - blue LED (blinking capable)

2. The behavior of LEDs is complex - it depends on the combination of currently active notifications and power state of the device. The function of a particular LED may change while connected to external power source.

3. For the script to work at its full potential LEDs pointed to by LED0 and LED2 variables should be capable of blinking (again: to explore LED capabilities of your device use Ledup.exe diagnostic mode)

4. This script may prove to be resilient to the power state (sleep/standby) LED bug on some devices.

LedN Control V.1.05 BETA

Warning - BETA - use at your own risk
Warning - no warranty of any kind
Warning - this software may potentially lead to unexpected behavior of your device - use at your own risk

Modification of the script is permitted. Moreover publication of patches and fixes is expected.

Some remarks:

1. On various Windows Mobile devices (eg. LG Expo GW820) this script may eliminate the annoying LED notification problem related to power state (LED stops to blink upon entering sleep power state).

2. It is recommended (but not required) to disable windows mobile LED notifications before using this script.

3. This script notifies about upcoming calendar event, SMS & MMS arrival and missed calls

4. The priority of notifications (from highest to lowest priority)
a) missed calls
b) SMS and/or MMS
c) event

5. Currently LED ID's can not be simply configured:
Event - LED ID 0
SMS/MMS - LED ID 3
Missed Calls - LED ID 1

6. Installation of \Windows\LEDUp.exe is required.
