Gonna reflash and redo my ROM since it's gotten abit buggy because of a failed app install. There was just a new modem released.. Which should I flash first? Rom then new modem, or new modem then ROM?

It does not matter because modem will not be overwritten.

did a little bit more digging:

ATT OTA MA4 kernel: v3.0.31-578342 SMP PREEMPT: Fri Jan 18 11:25:25 KST 2013

CR-ACE Int'nl MA8 kernel: v3.0.31-679347 SMP PREEMPT: Thu Jan 31 08:38:06 KST 2013

so, apparently ATT took the kernel from MA4 build and added the security fix... other than that, the CR MA8 kernel is 'newer" (but I don't believe has the exploit security fix).

Yeah, the exploit has 100% for sure been patched in the MA8 kernel. In all likelyhood the MA4 and MA8 kernels are essentially identical. I'd stick with MA8.
