Anyone know how I can get the beats icon back for the HTC music app? I actually like seeing it on my status bar while playing music.

Check this mod out. It brings the logo back. If you switch to anything else except beats it makes beats inoperable the next time you try to turn it on. If this happens open a music app with no headphones and play music. Plug in while playing and beats will come back. Toggle on and off and you will be back to normal.

Thanks for your help, but I ended up having to do a full wipe! Ugh, what a pain! Any idea why hitting the "tweaks default" button would do that? Is it because I had a custom kernel?

Hey i am on 1.1.0 still simply bc i was content and had no issues love this rom... I guess i will update to even more perfection! To do the ota's i just flash them one by one or can i simple flash the latest build? Do i need to do anything with kernel/boot.img?

You're welcome. Sorry you had to do a full wipe. This is pure speculation on my part as I don't know the inner workings of Venom Tweaks, but from what you're describing I'd say the default profile .xml is outdated with all the updates nit has been pushing out lately and it snuck up and bit you (Viper pun intended.) It was not kernel related.

Speaking of full wipes...
I'm a flashaholic and I couldn't resist the new Verizon OTA. As we're still s-on, I know there's nothing Justin or any other dev can do to update the radios or hboot without re-locking the phone. So, I took the plunge last night. All is well. I'm on a combination of updated radios and hboot from Verizon with "old" kernel (Cubed 3.1.3), recovery (TWRP 2.4.1.0) and ROM (Viper 1.1.3.) From start to finish (including lots reading from the original unlock thread from November to be safe, the return to stock thread, and searching on how to reflash my token) took 3 hours. Was it worth it? Early testing of the radios seem to say yes via Speed Test.

Hmmm this might be worth looking into... I'm board out of my mind today no football until august.

hello,

some quick questions about your procedure in relation to where i am right now. all i've done so far is to unlock the bootloader via htcdev. then i plan on installing a new recovery and rooting. after that installing viper and crpalmer's kernel (maybe cubed, not sure yet).

1a. after updating to the OTA does the phone need unlocked again or will it still be unlocked?
1b. if it gets locked do i need a new unlock code from htcdev?
2a. do the latest versions of CWM or TWRP fix the issues inherent to viperDNA from the second post in this thread?
2b. if i choose TWRP is the manual reseting done from within settings>backup & reset>reset phone? or is this done some other way?
