Default Re: |ROM|-|MyRom Revolution|-|V4.5|-|-2-18-13-|

Ok so I finally got around to flashing the 4.5 Rom and Aroma, and everything went as smooth as butter. I got everything setup and my apps restored, and then I rebooted into recovery (cwm) and did a nand backup, then I ran through Aroma (and I chose NEAK kernel and simplistic framework to name a few). Once Aroma finished, I went back to recovery before rebooting, and then I wiped both caches again and then rebooted. I didn't have a single hiccup through the entire process, and so far everything I've tried with the simplistic control app has been flawless. I can already feel a massive increase in overall speed with this rom, and so far it looks like I'm still getting ridiculously awesome battery life with NEAK. There's only one tiny problem that I've seen, and it's with the Windy Weather LWP again. I'm still getting a force close whenever I try to use it (or even just look at). I can definitely live with it because otherwise this rom is perfect so far, but I kind of miss it so I thought I'd see if I'm the only one who is having this problem? I flashed the lwp app in Aroma just to clarify so the Windy Weather LWP is there, but it just force closes whenever I try to even look at it. Anyway thanks again animalmo for all of this, and if you have any suggestions on what I could try to fix the issue with Windy Weather, please let me know!

I seem to recall in my brief moments in Aroma, that you shouldn't flash the AOSP MMS mod with SF.

I was going to say the same thing because I was just in Aroma and I saw that too.

I did the same thing. What I noticed was that something changed the APN and it would not send MMS. I have tried everything. I had to head back to stock so I could fix the APN then re root then back to a custom rom.

Installed v 4.5 no problems whatsoever w/ sf 3.5.

Decided I wanted to go back w/out sf so I could use the aosp theme. If I go back and check the back to stock then try a few different rounds, I'm always getting boot loop.
I even relished the rom then aroma selecting non sf options but still get boot loops. The rom itself seems to flash ok but there seems to be some combo in aroma I'm having a problem with.

Using my nand backup that has sf3.5 for now.

Any ideas?

Hey I've seen you around so I'm sure you know what you're doing, but did you wipe both caches again after you made the changes in Aroma and before rebooting? The only time I've had a boot loop with Aroma was when I didn't wipe both caches before rebooting, so I figured I'd throw it out there.

That sucks man sorry. I figured I'd at least throw it out there in case it could've been an easy fix for ya. I'm kinda glad you said that though because I also have 4.5 up and running with SF 3.5.1 and it's smooth as butter, and I was just about to try animalmo's framework when I saw your post. I still think I'm gonna give it a shot though just to see what happens, and I'll definitely let ya know if the same thing happens to me. So you've actually started over and wiped data, wiped caches, and then re flashed the Rom itself but then Aroma is still messed up after that? I just wanted to clarify whether you're saying that you might have to odin all the way back to stock and then start over again before Aroma will work again, or can you just wipe data and caches and then re flash 4.5 and then Aroma work then? I'm assuming you're talking about the first of those 2, but I just wanted to check. Thanks

Hey man I'm sure you already know that every device is different so what works for one might not work for another, but with that being said I'm still blown away by how awesome my battery life is with the NEAK Kernel. For me it's hands down the best battery life I've ever had in any device, but I've also never been totally battery conscious either (if that makes sense). So just to clarify I haven't done any extensive tests or anything, but I always at least let the battery cycle a couple of times whenever I try a new kernel. When I first flashed the NEAK kernel my battery was about 80% charged, and I didn't notice a bit of difference all the down to almost dead. But after I charged it overnight, I seriously could not believe the difference! I used my phone basically like normal all day starting at 8am, and by 10pm that night I still had 71% battery left! Normally I'd always be around 15%-25% whenever I'm crashing for the night, so it just blew my mind when I saw that lol. Another awesome benefit with using the NEAK kernel, is that there's a free app (and a donate version) on Play called UNEAK engine (I think that's the name or something close anyway), and it allows you to tweak tons of stuff within the kernel, and it also allows you turn on Voodoo Sound (which is the biggest benefit imo). I use my phone as my "car stereo" through auxiliary and after I turned on Voodoo Sound and tweaked everything, it literally sounds like I put a decent system in my car! (Thank you RonnieRuff for the heads up on NEAK, I owe ya one!). There's also preset easy configurations like battery saver, power mode for gaming and so on. Anyway I'm sure it's pretty obvious I'm a huge fan of the NEAK kernel so I'm definitely biased, but I still highly recommend it!
