When I reach the restore window on my Kindle, it asks for encryption passwords in two places. Should I enter my Amazon password in only the first field, the second field, or both fields?
mjpca,

This version should do the trick. when you have time try the first Root Method if it fails, try the second one.

Thank you for the feedback, when you have time download the latest version and test Option 20 first if that Root method fails try Option 21.

Software 02/18/2013 at 23:57 the current version is Rev 40:

Kindle Fire First Aide Revision 37 Minor Release - Download the complete package:

Kindle Fire First Aide Microsoft Windows 32-bit Version: KFFirstAide32.zip

Kindle Fire First Aide Microsoft Windows 64-bit Version: KFFirstAide64.zip

Kindle Fire First Aide Microsoft Windows Universal Package: KFFirstAide.zip

Please extract the package as C:\KFFirstAide - BE SURE TO REMOVE THE EXTENSION OF 32 OR 64, since these packages will extract with numbers on the end.

Be sure to add the Windows Environment Variable of C:\KFFirstAide to the Path Statement, if you require instructions please go to the first page of this thread.

Be sure to REMOVE the Android SDK, this will cause the process to fail.

Finally, it is very important to make sure you are using the latest version of Java SE:

Java SE Development Kit 7u13

This is really odd, we did not experience that on any of the Kindles today, I wonder if you deployed a bad APK due to a bad download? Use Google Play to download Task Manager by Houmiak: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...kmanager&hl=en

Open the software and let us know what process is taking a high percentage of CPU.

Prokennexusa,

I just tried to root the kindle using Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18 like i did the day i got my kindle, Now it displays the same errors i get with KFFAide, So maybe our problem is not in the code?

any ideas?

EDIT: And now i tried to sideload an app like i always do,

i get this error now

D:\Downloads\QemuRoot_v1.0>adb install Facebook-2.0.apk
failed to copy 'Facebook-2.0.apk' to '/data/local/tmp/Facebook-2.0.apk': Permiss
ion denied

D:\Downloads\QemuRoot_v1.0>

Definitely something in the kindle not the code!

I hate it when a device I paid for, I hold in my hands, and can easily toss into my fire place, or bury deep in the back yard, or throw as far as my Triceps will allow, tells me "Permission Denied". Thats like when in 7th grade when the local bully told me to "Go a head and punch me in the face, I dare you". OK

I have permission with or without the hammer "Your Choice Device"

unBricked 6 times via "The SkOrPn JIG"
"The SkOrPn Motorola & Kindle Fire Factory Cable"

High Quality is never an accident.
It is always the result of excellent intention, intelligent direction, sincere effort and skillful execution.
