Just to be the Devil's Advocate here, I actually had quite the opposite results. When I first started flashing and learning more and more, I got super into running different scripts and experimenting with different governors and schedulers...i think just based on the intrigue of having the capability itself, as well as seeing all of these posters on here saying how smooth and solid their phones were after running ________ governor at these super high over clocked speeds.
But no matter what combo i tried, I would always either LOSE UI speed, start overheating at the first sign of additional processing, drain battery like it's going out of style, or a combination of all three.
So I finally just gave up and started being patient every time I flashed a new ROM, just sticking it out for a few days on the stock setup...and sure enough, I've never been happier - UI smoothness, processing speed, battery temp, and battery life in general have never been better and more consistent for me since I "wizened up". Now keep in mind, this (like every ROM, kernel, etc) is rarely ever going to be exactly the same for anyone else - I have no doubt that your setups are working great for you - so take it with a grain of salt of course. Just wanted to provide my two cents!
