Quick question. I finally got approval from the wife to root her S3. She is on the latest stock OTA and wanted to know if I install a custom recovery will this give it perm root vs just temp that this does? Correct me if I am wrong as I am on a rooted N2 and just want to make sure before moving forward.

Appreciate the help! Thanks.

Sorry, wrong terminology. Just was to root and put TWRP recovery so I can flash custom roms.

You can flash a recovery without having root.

But, I recommend against rooting another person's phone for them. It really becomes a hassle keeping it up to date.

I agree with you on this point, but this is my wife and there isn't any issue keeping it updated. I am a flashoholic on my N2 and previously Evo3D. I just want to confirm it works with the latest ota fron T-Mobile.

I can confirm it works like a charm. Very quick and easy. But, like stated, it only grants root. The custom recovery you use, if you choose flash one, will be up to you.
