good day bro, i am using sgs3 w/ JB 4.2.1 from samsung-updates.com

i was able to root my device with your great work..
just want to know and ask where can i find the CWM nandroid backup i made?
i can't see it using file manager and in laptop, i thought it was just hidden but still nothing.
i was hoping i could make a copy of it on my laptop for future uses and save phone disk space.
is there by any chance i could see it?..thanks in advance

As long as you use a recent CM (10.1 should be ok), you're safe from SDS as long as your phone is "running".
However, when you use this older 5.5 recovery, you are not safe from SDS at the moment the recovery is running.

CM 10.1 contains a patched kernel = OK
Recovery from CF-Root 6.4 has a non-patched kernel = NOT Safe !

I'd recommend update the recovery to Philz CWM or TWRP (use the most recent versions, these contain a patched kernel)

Should be on your SD (internal or external) under /ClockWorkmod/backup/2013-02-xx/......
Replace "2013-02-xx" by the date you made the backup.

have been using 4.1.2 indian firmware for sometime.
now, can i directly flash this cf-root 6.4 to my phone using odin

and is there any further steps/pre-cautions that i have to take..
please guide me..

Follow the instructions, if it doesn't bout after the flash, re-flash with auto restart unchecked, then use three button combo to boot recovery and this triggers installation

Note that the recovery included is old, and it is worth updating,I would use philz touch recovery, flash either via cwm/Odin/mobile Odin.....both versions are available

hi..
i have rooted succesfully..
have taken backups of /efs and created a nandroid backup..

now, if i have to install a custom rom, can i flash it from cwm or first i have to update the recovery and only then proceed with other things..
i need a rom which gives me better battery backup and a working camera,
stock firmware isn't battery friendly...

You should be able to flash from the cwm supplied, but worth updating when you get the time, only takes 30 seconds to flash a recovery
