That is one of the changes in 4.2 in general, multi-user with proper separated userspaces. Everything is made available virtually, that enables to only show a user what he should see, and not stuff of another user.
That is also one reason stuff like cifs mounts won't work on a multi-user environment, as user "root" mounts them (only he can), but thus only he sees them, so you apps won't be able to browse those filesystems
For now, I'll happily stay on 4.1, because of that and at least for sure as long as I won't get the sources to make my kernel for 4.2
