I am not asking anybody to BEGIN working on it. I am asking, however, this:

Has anybody (individual or team) begun working on unlocking the Kyocera Rise's bootloader and/or a custom recovery? From what I understand, it is locked down something fierce, so I was just curious if anybody here had turned up anything Google won't.

Bump.

I take it that the lack of responses means that the answer is no.

I've been wondering the same thing.
All the information I could really find was on AndroidForums in "Porting ClockWorkMod Kyocera Rise"
(I can't post outside links)

You probably saw our lack of success there as well, then.

Rise Root
The Rise can be rooted there are a few procedures which will allow access to rooting the Rise. It seems there is a problem with rooting the Rise v4.0.4. But at this moment the only app you can use to customize your phone is "PimpMyRom". Though some the features from "PimpMyRom" do not work on the rise. The most important ones which make a significant change do work. I suggest NOT to install "Beats Audio". This will damage the phone's sound.
