Re: [Modem] All Radio's at 'One' Place (Latest: XXLSO)

Sorry for maybe stupid question but is there any method to test which radio is better for my N7000/my geographic zone?

I tried a few radios but I cannot understand which is the best: some provide good voice quality, some better signal, some better data speed, some better in 2G, some better in 3G but no one is good in all.

Is therw any app or method to benchmark radio?

Good question, not stupid at all. However the test is inherently subjective as it depends upon what is important to you.

If I was going to setup comparative testing then I'd decide which facets of performance are going to be tested, assign a scoring scale to each, test each radio multiple times on each facet, decide how I was going to normalize the data and finally decide how I was going to weight each facet to come up with a final score for each radio.

Sounds like lots of work. I'm currently back on XXLB2 and performance hasn't been bad enough for me to even bother trying a new radio, let alone setup a testing programme.

R: [Modem] All Radio's at 'One' Place (Latest: XXLSO)

I'm still testing radios but it's hard to understand which give a good feedback at all.

Do anybody know which radio is provided with the last 4.1.2 stock rom for Italy?

Thanks

Changing Radios on AOKP, CM, AOSP

Hi

This might be a silly question.

I used to use TW ICS and JB ROMs and would switch radios whenever a newer/better radio appeared.
Can I do the same on AOKP AOSP CM 4.2.2 based ROMs???
Or are the radios different for different ROMs (a bit like kernels are natively ROM specific)?

Cheers.............. FF

I've XXLPT phone and I've flashed any radio/modem here. But after I flashed, my Baseband shown "Unknown" except my origin radio/modem (XXLPT)

Can you tell me why? Because I've got my phone form USA and I'm Indonesian. So I my phone can't detect Indonesian SIM Card.

Sorry for my bad English :p

Correction : LT3 :p

Works on my phone (latest Asylum CM10.1 - 4.2.2). Of course it works, lol. Wish we had changelogs for these :crying:

Incorrect...
The CSC/PDA N7000XXLT4. The modem version is N7000XXLT3.
Modem revision doesn't necessarily follow CSC/PDA revision # pattern.
Take the LO2 ROM for example, it still has the same LSO modem.

    Zip files are CWM flashable.
Bin files are Mobile Odin/PC Odin flashable. Never rename bin files, or Mobile Odin will not recognize them!

Warning: Even if you want to flash bin file with Mobile Odin i advise to download CWM zip file and extract bin file from there, as it will give you extra CRC protection in case your download was corrupt.

ICS modems can be used with GingerBread ROM's and vice versa.
At least i never have problems with it before.

If you have new modem - post it in this thread and i will add it to the OP.

    XXLRB modem

I've extracted the XXLRB modem from the first official ICS 4.0.4 samsung stock-rom (XXLRG), that has been released earlier today. I've made a cwm-package, see attachment.

BTW, it works flawlessly on Paranoid Android 0.4a.
