How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S3 Verizon on jelly bean 4.1.2 and keep your apps

Is it possible to flash this and then just use EZ-unlock for the bootloader and EZ recovery to flash TWRP or CWM.
To me that would be easier then flashing the BLK3 bootchain, rooting, and then reflashing the MB1 bootchain.
Thanks for any input.

Yes it would be. I havent tested ez unlock 1.2 on the 4.1.2 android version I am not sure if it works. if it does then that would be a easy way to unlock it. I may make a video on that also

I used the 1.2 version and it worked flawlessly.1.4 newest version doesn't work.

I rooted/unlocked this phone quite a while ago (while it was on ICS), but my girlfriend just got hers (I think it's on 4.1.2), and I'm pretty sure the bootloader didn't unlock using the Odin method. So 2 questions:
1) how do I know?
2) how do I unlock it now if it didn't? Do I just reflash the boot chain again, or should I use EZ Unlock?

The first thing you can check to see if your boot loader is unlocked it the samsung logo on boot will only flash at you for a second the show the boot animation if it is unlocked. locked boot loader you will see samsung for like 5 seconds.

Well then the bootloader is locked unfortunately, could you point me to the best way to unlock it?
