@stefansjs:
Is Activesync installed on your Pc?
I'm using Activesync 4.5 on my PC (Windows XP) and don't have any problems with the connection. If you havn't it installed - the progam is on the little CD you got with the phone.
When you first time connect with pc, you must have administrator rights. Otherwise it doesn't connect. The phone must be switched on.
I hope you understand my English :)

From Amaly: "Is Activesync installed on your Pc?" Yes it's installed, and it's actually working when I plug in my phone. I can access all the data, but whenever I try to copy/move data from/to the phone, it freezes.

I tried bluetooth active sync today, did exactly the same: I can see all the files, but whenever I try to exchange data, it freeeeezes....

Thanks your English is perfect!

Default aGPS bug in ROM v3.04-wwe

Hello:

It looks like there is a aGPS bug in the ROM v3.04-wwe: the phone always tries to connect to sls1.sirf.com, not to the server & port that I specify in the aGPS settings.

Has someone else observed the same bug? Do more recent ROMs fix it?

Thank you.

Hi xmdan, I am curious about agps settings. My gps is not working very well and I am not comfortable making the antenna change. Are there settings that make it work better?

Hi create123,

I assume that you are familiar with the A-GPS concept. Using A-GPS improves significantly the time to find the satellites, and even the number of the satellites found. (At least that was the case for me, with the previous ROM.)

Under ROM v3.04, you have an icon called "AGPS settings" under "Settings->System"; in any case the settings are in the registry, under HKCU\ControlPanel\GPS -- you may enter there the (DNS) name, port of the aGPS server that you want to use, and enable A-GPS (in registry: put "1" in the EnableAGPS key).

Sometimes (often??) the cellular network operator provides their own A-GPS server -- you should check with your operator. What is yours?
The default sirf server does not respond to the request from my phone, so I need to use my network operator's server. Of course, all this creates some data traffic, but I believe that in some cases the network operator does not charge for the data exchanges with its own A-GPS server -- again you should check with your operator.

Hi xdman,
Thank you for the explanation. I am using tmobile in US but with a feature phone data plan . How do I find out if they have a agps server? Maybe they are blocking my access to the agps server or maybe my data plan does not allow access to it. Could that explain my poor gps (even outside takes several minutes)? How do you know if you are unable to connect to server? Which cellular company are you using?

I would advise you to ring them up and ask. I have done a quick google search, I have not spotted any information on the a-gps service from t-mobile us.

Have you activated a-gps? What is the server that you point it to?

I am not sure. I think there might be a problem with the firmware as well. With a previous ROM, it usually took my phone less than a minute to find 3 satellites, without a-gps; with the current ROM (3.04) it can take more than 3 minutes...

In fact, sometimes it connects, sometimes not. I am using the "Windows Mobile Network Analyzer PowerToy " from Microsoft.
My cellular network operator is Orange France.
