.torrented,

I know this is an ongoing CM10.1 issue, but since you are a little closer to chad/crpalmer/flyhalf do you know if any headway is being made about Video Calling not working?

I am just casually asking not demanding, if you may have heard anything through the grape vine about that issue.

I mean Root-Box is totally killer & the one time I tried to use Tango I couldn't. (Really doesn't bother me one bit.) I could see my wife but not hear her. I searched the CM10.1 thread & saw that Skype & Google Hangouts are also affected.

Any insight would be welcome. Other than that EVERYTHING works great. No other issues at all.

I haven't heard anything about hangouts audio or other video chats. There were a lot of chanes done to the audio stuff so I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it not working. Tonight/Tomorrow I will do some digging around and see if I can either find something or get some answers. I like having everything at least working, even if I don't use it.

May you tell me how you got such great battery life? Best I remember getting was this weekend when I was being lazy and sat on the couch and played on my phone all day :D. I got 15 hours on about 3.5 hour screen time.

Sent from my Droid DNA running Rootbox

Sure man my pleasure.

What I did was install crpalmer's latest AOSP Kernel. Then I went to my kernel tuning app. I bought ROM Toolbox Pro for ever ago & that is what I use. I changed the Governor to Interactive & I/O Scheduler to Noop. I overclocked to 1728MHz with min at 384MHz.

Then I went to Kernel Tweaks & LEFT the STOCK voltages the way they came. I don't believe in undervolting because it compromises performance more than it actually improves battery life. I felt the same way on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I get great battery life with no compromises what so ever....EVERYTHING is fast/smooth/crisp & clean. Just the way I like it. :cowboy:

I changed the hispeed load to 80, the highspeed freq to 14580000 or 1.4GHz, min sample time to 40000, & timer rate to 20000.

Then I set it all to apply at boot.

Now you have to let the kernel settle, you should really start to see great battery life once you are on your second full charge. I typically let my phone charge for 4 hours then unplug it. Those pics I posted are moderate usage. I made calls, surfed the web, send texts, & watched videos on Youtube, as well as take photos & videos. If I played games for about an hour I may get 3.5 to 4 hours of screen on time but with maybe 20 or less hours of battery life. Probably 18 hours or so.

Hopes this helps. :fingers-crossed:

I know exactly what you mean. I am the same way. ;)

I would have never said anything but my wife left her phone at my Mother's house last night & she wanted to use Tango to talk to me from her tablet today while I am at work but I could not hear a single word nor she could hear me. Video works perfectly, we can see each other but we could not hear each other.

Funny how things get caught or found out. lol

Hey thanks for all that you do. :good:

Thanks, and really? I haven't heard about that! .torrented, will you be working on a 4.3 port of rootbox when the main dev gets one up and running? That thought just makes me burst with awesomeness!

It just looks like a checkbox

Oh OK. I've noticed that when looking at the app details, there is no disable button. Am I missing something? Is the option somewhere else in 4.2?
Edit: the disable option is only missing in launchers (apex, nova, ext) regardless of defaults set or lack of them. Why is this? How can I disable a launcher?

no its there... right under uninstall

Okay, I've figured out in looking at launchers (apex, nova, ext) the option is gone. Its there everywhere else. How can a disable a launcher?

BTW: that was a fast reply! I came back here to edit my post saying what's above, to see you already responded before I could edit! Nice timing!

use Titanium Backup and freeze the launcher (if you have TiBu) or use similar apps that can freeze apps

No I meant 14580000. That is exactly what I have. Also my screen brightness is at exactly half or 50%. I don't use auto brightness at all. (I maybe should have mentioned that.) lol :p

I am glad to help, I really do find it VERY smooth & extremely responsive. Another thing I always do to keep the phone running smoothly is when I hop in the shower I do a full reboot. That way my phone is READY to go at TOP performance when I get out of the shower & go about my day or evening.

Just another little nugget I personally do to keep the phone running at top gear.

Also guys if you want a little more dramatic flare to your Root-Box ROM try this framework animation. My boy has a Nexus 4 & showed me this so I tried it on Root-Box because it was confirmed to work on the Nexus 4 Root-Box ROM. Guess what??? It WORKS for our HTC Droid DNA!!!

If you try this just make sure you use the 5.3zips if you use CWM or if you use TWRP.

Here is the link to the framework thread:

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2199115

I personally leave all the animations at 1x in developer options. It's more dramatic that way. At 5x it's way to fast & not as dramatic in my opinion.

Just another nugget I like to share with my Root-Box Family :D

    [ROM][JB 4.2.2] [Update20] | GCC 4.7/-O3 | Root-Box | DNA | HALO))) | Hybrid | PIE | [UNOFFICIAL]

Please enjoy my first ever ported AOSP/CM ROM. For a good laugh, I just woke up that day and randomly picked a ROM from the nexus 7 development forums that I wanted to port, then made it happen... The regular stuff is below (Please know I am not trying to take any credit for the hard work of the other guys that have put everything else together) Please if I forgot anything let me know I have been up all night working to get this to where it is and im sure i made a mistake here or there... Enjoy :)

    Code:
    #include

    *
    * We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.

    Description

Vanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP/CM features and some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs. Every RootBox releases are stable and always up to the challenge for a daily usage. I personally have a high standard when it comes to releases and this is why this project always meets the expectations of users. If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there, I only have one thing to say: Try it yourself and choose the one that meets your requirements.

A: Flash the ROM and give it a test run.

Q: AHHH! I found a bug, what can I do to help you fix it?!?!?
A: Get me a logcat and submit it to http://www.pastebin.com and then paste the link to your paste in a post.
A: Alternatively if you experience an app Force Close, hit the report button and then send it to torrented.xda@gmail.com

Q: I want to update to the latest update, do I need to do a full wipe or just the caches?
A: Just wiping the caches is ok, but since I'm still in the early stages, if you get any force closes or strange anomalies I would suggest doing full wipes in between and do not restore any kind of system data.

Here is the deal, Once SMS/MMS stuff gets fixed I can release an Update! Everything is building properly but CM messed up SMS/MMS so until then there will be a halt.

    Everything else seems ok.

EDIT* Issue is now fixed and I am uploading NOW!

@DasRooter If you feel you can do a better job at maintaining a ROM with almost 0% support from the main dev, feel free to do so.

    Update is live

I Suggest to Clean Flash this Update!

    or

make sure to clear Contacts, Contacts Storage, and the dialer data if you dirty flash, it will get rid of the FC's

torrented nice work, my only hiccup is I keep getting com.android.acore.stopped working. any idea what this is? followed your install instrucs to the tee

Clear cache and data for contact and contact storage, that's the acore error.
