Did you move to a 4.2.2 Rom when it stopped working? That's still cm10.1 so that doesn't tell me anything. Quite a few things changed under the hood, it may just not be possible on 4.2.2 anymore.

Yes. It worked under 10.1 when it was 4.2.1. The only change was a factory wipe and an upgrade to 4.2.2 update to 10.1. I agree that it could be caused by the changes under the hood. However the script stops fails when it checks WIN_libflashplayer.so string. This is after it replaced the AND string with the WIN string in the hexdump. Since this is still within the busybox commands, and it's all part of the search and replace strings it doesn't seem likely that it's impossible in 4.2.2. It may be done differently but search and replace of strings is fundamental to Linux and computing in general. I doubt that all of a sudden they'd take away that ability as part of the changes under the hood. Far more likely, something happened with the busybox applets or other basic Linux applets in the conversion to 4.2.2
