[Q] Noobie needs help with rooting SCH-1545 me7 build
Just scouring the forums to see if there is any help available with my issue. I have a Verizon Galaxy s4 ME7 SCH-1545. Some of those identifiers are I believe redundant, nevertheless, I dont think I put all needed info about the phone in that description, because I dont know whats needed and what isnt. That being said, I will explain any details missing to anyone that can help. Im looking to root my phone, yes i'm aware of the void, and yes im aware of the brick risk. Like I mentioned earlier, I have the ME7 update(took it before I knew it was detrimental to not take it), and would like to root my device. I have tried the method on the XDA forums several times(the one that just came out recently) to no avail. I also tried the motochopper method. Nothing. The only progress i made was that now when i boot my phone, it says "Samsung" underneath that it says "custom" and then has an unlocked lock. but when I run the terminal app as directed by the dev who came up with the root for the ME7 update, im stuck on the ./pwn portion.....it says (permission denied). Now, also on these forums it mentions to ignore the permission denied and to continue the steps, well I do that too, and everytime I try and open the SU app(whether it be from the inherent SU app or another marketplace one) it always says that i do not have root....yet on startup, the custom screen is displayed...Im at a loss and so is probably anyone trying to follow along with the course of events i described. Like I said, obviously if more info is needed to diagnose the issue, I will provide it immediately. just because I didnt disclose it here doesnt mean I forgot, just that Im a noob and didnt know to disclose it. Any help with this issue would be much appreciated. Oh, and I assume based on all the other forums, that flashing a ROM with this OTA ME7 update is out of the question....let me know if I'm wrong. Thanks again for your time. Semper Fi.
