Mock up an image and we'll send it his way :]

you should e-mail chompSMS with this idea if Handcent doesn't go through with it. I personally like chomp, but they're both good messaging apps!

Hate to be the only one to say it but I don't like chomp.
I feel its more of an Iphone application ported to Android.
I feel its more subtle and never going to change like the Myspace application and Facebook.

Handcent does work.

I agree. Keeping the ui similar between apps is key.
As pretty as coverflow is, I don't see this being the place for it.
Hope to see this come to fruition. (by xda devs of course)

Disagree, wasn't the whole point of having third party apps and open source applications to push the phone to its limits?

And just a heads up if you haven't seen it, the new LG GW620 Android's UI has a 3d cube like UI for switching home screens as seen in this post

Maybe it's a hint twords 2.0 [In my OP about it I had to hints twords 2.0 features but yea.

I politely disagree, give it animation, make it look different and better than anything out there.

handcent is the same exact thing as Chomp, the only difference is that you can customize chomp a little bit more than handcent.

I also made a quick mock up of the design, when the phone is in landscape mode!

@Briix
The problem with your image on a realistic developing scale is that the contact photos are stored and re-sized to Google, so if the contact photo was that big the imagine would have to be blown up and really pixelated and sloppy.

Thats why in my OP I believe I said one of the problems would be within the app would have to be a feaure to select photos from your gallery to crop properly.

But hey that's a great idea and I took this post here to see others ideas not put people down and say this is what I want lol but again, I like your idea :]

The way I see it in portrait probably takes up too much cpu.
Scroll to the contact photo, then it locks to them and under there photo would fall all the last 5 or 7 texts in an animated fashion then be alligned properly and be ready to type!

Lol it's a cool idea to think about, and I'm glad I got you thinking about it too.
