It's on it's way, soon as the admin gets time .

Lightbulb For Admins Only - Tiny fix needed for UAE 'GSM Providers' in User CP

Not sure who I should have sent this to, so I resorted to posting it here:

I live in the UAE and there are only 2 telecom operators which aren't reflected in the User CP option "GSM Provider". These should be (case-sensitive):

United Arab Emirates - UAE Etisalat
United Arab Emirates - UAE DU

Not sure what ETISALAT G1 & G2 were...

I have also attached the correct logos for these

Thanks!

Default Sorry for posting request for Omnia assistance

"This site is mostly about certain PDA-phones, made by a firm called HTC in Taiwan. They called them 'Wallaby', 'Himalaya', 'Blue Angel', 'Wizard' and 'TyTN', but almost nobody knows them by those names. They are sold through mobile operators that give them their own names. We got our first such phone as 'XDA', hence the name of this site."

Thus, my confusion. (see bold text from your welcome page)

I know you all are volunteers and have a heavy work load so I truly understand why the mods and admins want to specialize on one device. I guess success is a terrible thing and with the traffic you all have generated you may not realize it but you've become a place where victims of the profit-driven system that gives support a back seat to marketing come to find help - that's a big burden and I thank you all for relieving at least some of the pain.

Here's a suggestion to help stop some of the many inquiries about other products besides HTC: Change the welcome page to make it clear that this is an HTC-specific site only. Most people don't know what "XDA" means.

Unless someone spends time reading through many threads it is not clear and the posting guidelines don't make it clear either. So newbies like me will constantly make that mistake.

I'm disapointed that I won't find help here but I'm glad you all are doing what your're doing - and I still want to donate but don't know how to find the English language section of the donate page - see my previous thread.

p.s. - if any of you have the time perhaps you could get a volunteer from the site to help set up an alternate device site? - especially for my Omnia 2. -ok I'll stop.

Here the link to donation page in english:

And on the other subject, it has been discussed so many time before: This is an HTC devices only forum, that is the position of the Admins, which I support.
In off topic there is a thread regarding samsung omnia by the way...

HTC One - HTC Butterfly S coming - HTC Universal

XDA is about developing and is for developers. Any user that recognises that will gain the most benefit from this site

This is and always will be a site for developers, pure and simple. Without them we are nothing, without them there would be no reason for XDA Developers to exist; we should never ever forget that. Without them this place would not be called XDA-Developers but something else, e.g Mobile Phone User Support Services For Ungrateful Nerds.

Previous devices: HTC: Treo 650 - Excalibur - Diamond - Diamond 2 - Maple - HD2 - Rhodium - Desire Z - Desire HD - Vivid - Sensation - One V - One X - Titan II - One X+ - DNA
