That sucks, but why didn't you buy it in a retail store, Costco and Sam's club are cheaper than that

They don't sell the 5100 at Costco or Sam's Club

You're now making me wary of buying those 'export sets'. Especially if its wrapped in legit looking box and turns out to contain an 'Android note 8.0' :sly:

My bad, I was thinking 5110. Sorry for your bad luck.

I wouldn't worry too much, consumer protection is built in to the system. Amazon sells export stuff, and polices vendors. They couldn't get away with shenanigans like this. Stuff paid for using PayPal has a dispute resolution system in place. Using a third party (instead of paying the vender directly) is the first layer of protection. The second layer of protection is using a credit/debit card. Most credit card companies and banks make it very easy to dispute online purchases. Just do in a timely manner (within 30 days).

Default Ouch

woah, that's harsh.

I was waiting till after black Friday and cyber Monday before engaging some of the cheaper sellers online. Also specifically looking for the 5100. I might still wait till the "unwanted gifts" and contract upgrades that come with the festive season. Thank you so much for sharing.

Small consolation that you have an additional device for experimentation, maybe?
