afraid to root because i may cant revert it stock with locked

Default afraid to root because i may cant revert it stock with locked

hello xda members
am new in htc devices
in samsung i only need to root my device with odin and then install stoch roms to get it back to warranty

but in htc installing stock ruu will not be enough because i will have relocked instead of locked after locking the boatloader

will this guide help me in future to ge to stock

You should s-off your device. If something bad happen and you need to send your device for repair you can restore to 100% stock with the guide you linked above. With s-off you can also set device back to ''LOCKED'' instead of ''RE-LOCKED'' look at step 5 of that guide.

If you can achieve S-OFF you should be good to return 100% stock with a .401 RUU with bootloader in a LOCKED state and no tempered warning (again with that guide you linked).

The problem is that you might not be able to achieve s-off (some users reported problem to s-off) and you will only know when you'll try it and a this moment you'll already be rooted/unlocked (s-off required root).

So the decision is yours, there is always a risk of loosing warranty.
