Default pixel: dead, stuck, or Other?

New note 2014, and last night I noticed a pixel that wasn't doing what it was meant to be doing, so I ran the typical tests with different colour backgrounds.

This pixel didn't seem to change colour at all, but remained white. Which I thought (after Google research) meant a stuck pixel. So I rubbed at it and did the flashy screen program to try and unstuck it but to no avail.

Now for the slightly weird part... If I leave the screen on a standard colour (like the home screen) the pixel is not that noticeable... until it flashes. Every few seconds or so the pixel will flash a brighter white for a moment before going back to its usual dull white.

Which isn't stuck pixel behaviour that I'd hear do before. It's not mentioned on any of the dodgy pixel behaviour. So I thought I'd ask about it before I try and get an exchange tomorrow! (im working this evening so will have a day to make any fix attempts)

Thanks for any Advice!

I bought it online, but from john lewis, and there is a local store. Already have a replacement reserved for tomorrow pickup. Fingers crossed
