Default [Q] Downgrading with Custom-Rom

Hey together,

I'm right now on android 4.3 with Samsung stock firmware: I9505XXUEMJ7.
I flashed CF-auto-root to get root and Philz Touch recovery and everything works fine.

However, I'd like to get the new MIUI (TW-based) rom, which is on android version 4.2.2.
Is it safe to flash it, or will there be problems with KNOX, bootloader etc.?

Just to say: Sorry if there's already another thread, I searched but didn't find an answer.

Thanks and greetings,
Prolution

Hi,

Do you have the Knox bootloader?
If so, then you will not be able to downgrade.
If you do not have Knox, then, you are fine to flash the 4.2.2 firmware.

Default Thans for your answer.

Hi,

If I boot into download mode there are things like Knox. Warranty Void is also set to 0x1.
So I think I do have Knox bootloader...
Is there really no other way to get Miui onto my device? I would actually do everything...
What would happen if I just flash it via Philz Touch? As far as I know Miui has probably another bootloader?!

Thanks,
Prolution

Hi,

MIUI is 4.2.2 and you are on 4.3
So far I have not seen anyone downgrade successfully.
Sorry.

Hi,

I just wanted to tell: I installed (as in the thread mentioned (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2444671)) this firmware: "I9505ZHUAME3-PRE-ROOTED-ORIGINAL.tar".
And it worked for me! I just flashed it in Odin 1.85.
I already installed MIUI and I'm happy again. But thanks to your support!!

Greetings.

Hi,

So, you were on a 4.3 ROM,with a tripped KNOX bootloader.
You flashed a stock pre-rooted 4.2.2 ROM with Odin 1.85
Then, you flashed Miui ROM and it worked?
You have sound and wifi working?
Please confirm.
This is most unusual.

Hi,

Although it may sound weird and not true: It is true!!
I had android 4.3 with firmware: "I9505XXUEMJ7" (AUT, Swiss version).
After I followed the thread, which I linked in the previous thread.
I downloaded firmware "I9505ZHUAME3-PRE-ROOTED-ORIGINAL.tar" and the pit file and flashed them it via Odin 1.85. I checked in "Re-Partition" and "F. Reset Time" (not "Auto Reboot").
It passed without a problem and I restarted my phone directly into recovery. I had to try several times, but after the third (or so) it worked and I was in recovery mode. There, I wiped cache and made a factory reset.
From there one, everything went fine. My phone booted total normally and I had android 4.2.2. Btw, knox warranty void is still on 0x1.

Greetings!

Edit: Forgot to say, I didn't have wifi or sound, that's true, but after flashing Adam kernel (newest) it worked too!

Hi,

This is what I wanted to know about.
This is a common problem when users try to downgrade...No wifi or sound.
So,the custom kernel fixed this.
This is good to know.
Thanks
