Default [Q] MicroSD card speed limitation in Galaxy Note 2

I have just bought a SanDisk Ultra microSDHC 32GB UHS-1, but I noticed the transfer speed seems to be rather slow. So installed the SD Card Tester tool and run a test. On average, the writing speed is about 8 MB/s and reading speed is about 11.5 MB/s this is no where near the 30 MB/s speed mentioned for a UHS-1 card.

I also have a 2 GB microSD card of unknown brand (made in China) that I got for free when I bought my Blackberry Gemini. Surprisingly the test result is slightly better, writing speed is 9.97 MB/s and reading speed 12.21 MB/s.

I bought the SanDisk microSD card at a major computer store, so I believe the card is genuine.

My question is, is there any speed limitation on Galaxy Note 2 hardware for reading/writing to a microSD card to an extent that buying a class 10 or UHS-1 card is pretty much useless?

Not yet, my PC is really old does not have a card reader slot. I will need to get one external card reader.

With a class 10 card I get 15 Mb/s write and 33 Mb/s read.

which card brand and model?
what tool did you use to test the speed?
was the card formatted in Android or Windows?

Try using A1 sd bench, from play store.
I get better better speeds using that with the same cardas you.
