Default [Q] Android Upgrade App that upgrades while keeping settings and data

Is there an easy to use and Free Android Upgrade App that upgrades the Android OS like from 4.0.2 to newest 4.2.2 while keeping settings and personal data and installed apps. Seems like a common sense thing since everyone expects this on Desktop OS updates right? why not with Android.

Thanks all

That doesn't help much. I am looking for a simple solution, care to elaborate what you mean and provide maybe some tutorial links or articles on what you mean to accomplish what I am asking? thanks

I don't have "Software Update" option in Settings->About Phone.

Which phone are u using, normally manufacturers push out updates, for example, nexus 4 got updated from 4.3 to 4.4, it happened via OTA ( over the air ) update in which all data remains intact.

In case u want to shift to a custom rom , u can use an app called titanium backup, which will backup and restore all apps.

there is also Nandroid backup via CWM and TWRP
