Not 100% sure, but I think you can use the flash tool to put the old image on, root it, and either flash a non-stock rom or use Titanium Backup to freeze the update app and prevent it from re-updating. You can do a Titanium Backup of your apps first so you don't lose quite everything in the reflash (but be sure to move it to your computer, I think the stock reflash wipes out everything).

Ok, I finally got around to trying it (wasn't sure if I was going to keep the G2 or go for S4, but G2 it is. I installed the LG drivers (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_n...it?usp=sharing) and followed the instructions line for line, didn't have any problems. Titanium seems to be working Ok for me. If adb isn't working, it's probably a configuration issue on your computer.

10o can be rooted as pointed out. They were testing recovery for it as well a day or 2 ago. Not sure what happened with it.
Device LG G2
Rom AeonFlex
Kernel Stock
Recovery TWRP

You might be right. root method was giving me issues pushing recovery and ytiruces files to my sdcard. so i did it manually and ran root method again. that did the trick.
