Question [Q] Question about Glass for surgical applications

I'm a researcher in the medical imaging field, primarily involved in surgical guidance for oncology. I develop technology to provide additional information to cancer surgeons besides the native "touch" and visual spectrum that is seen with the naked eye/microscope, during surgery.

I got an invite to purchase a Google Glass, and I'd like to develop to use in surgical applications, mainly real time access to augmented information from other imaging modalities, etc. Anyone else developing in this space? Would be interested to hear your experiences.

Does anyone know the specs on the camera? Is there any infrared sensitivity? (similar to that which is built into Kinect). Any links that would point me to some detailed information online would be helpful.

Mine seems to be able to see in the dark to a degree. I know that the user-facing "sensor" contains an IR light and IR-detecting camera.
