I would suggest you to read about rooting , unlocking boot loader and different topics associated with it instead of directly jumping into the practical.

Make sure you understand the process before doing it , because in rarest cases , if the device gets bricked or gets any issues , at least you'll have an idea about what could have possibly went wrong .

Make sure you have the LGNPST and the stock bins handy for your E970. Read the LGNPST tutorial once , so at least if anything goes wrong you can take care of it.

All the best.

I agree with Rishi. There are several great threads explaining how things work.

Make sure you backup your EFS partition...freegee should automatically do that...you'll need that if your GPS dies.

Hopefully you don't need LGNPST and bins, but make sure your aware of it.

Not sure if it's still needed, but you can update your boot loader, so that you don't have to 'blind navigate' into recovery.

I would take the time to read every page of your desired roms thread.

Good luck and welcome to the club.

The second sticky in the first forum section is about rooting, unlocking, etc., http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2006946. Read that, and check the other stickies in the General and Development sections. And the best advice outside of that has already been shared in this thread: have LGNPST and a stock image ready, as they are your savior if you mess up or something goes awry.

there is a LOT of info already available here, enough for me to get KitKat running well enough. But of course if you have any specific hiccups along the way there are people here to help.
