Default Tunnel ports < 1024

Hi all,
I have a rooted Nexus 7 (2013) and I want to tunnel port 80 from a machine in my home network to port 80 on my Nexus. This is a rather simple procedure on any Linux device, however, even though my phone is rooted, none of the SSH/Tunnel apps allows me to tunnel ports <1024. Why is this? Is there any app which will allow me to tunnel local port 80 to a remote network? Amongst others I tried ConnectBot which still claims that the port number is <1024. ConnectBot, however, did not request SU permissions explicitely, but several other apps did - and I granted them through SuperSU. I'm sure there is a way to achieve this, can anyone please put me on the right track?

Thanks,
