Default [Q] Need help flashing AOSP kitkat to LG Optimus G Canadian Rogers E971 2600

Hi all,

I am pretty new to flashing custom roms to android phones.

Since I am a new member I am not allowed to post links so please bear with me....

The problem I am having, once I've flashed houstonn's AOSP kitkat rom is that the wifi does not work.

Here are the steps I take:
1) root the phone using motochopper or ZV9-ZVB-Universal-Root.
2) Install FreeGee
- backed up my EFS using FreeGee
3) Install CWM or TWRP using FreeGee
4) Boot in recovery mode
- made a backup here too
5) wipe cache and dalvik cache
6) install AOSP and paranoid android gapps
7) reboot the phone

Also worth nothing: My first attempt at flashing the phone ended up soft-bricking my device, and i lost my backup, and thus had to work my phone back to stock via KDZ_FW_UPD and the E97120D kdz obtained from the "Original LG Firmware" tool.

It seems the problem lies with the EFS. The phone knows its IMEI but lists its MAC address as unknown. But I cannot be sure really what the problem is.

Please, I really need some help troubleshooting this: Any ideas anyone has that could help me troubleshoot this is very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Default additional info

the rom ( used version 3 ):

a guide i used:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2450220
- the guide is outdated on the SBL Unlock Method stuff (just used the mako unlock instead)
- it tells me to factory reset before and after flashing rom, if I do a factory reset at either point the phone goes into a bootloop

used this tool to backup efs (before installing rom) and recovering efs (after installing rom and noticing network, wifi, and camera did not work):

Not sure if this is worth noting as it seems unrelated:
- Flashed SuperSU to fix root issue
- Flashed NFC fix (though I am unsure if it was the fabled canadian fix mentioned here and there in these forums but it did SEEM to fix the NFC so...yay?)
