Uninstall safestrap, reboot. 4.4 update should pop up. Keep in mind, I don't believe its been confirmed that the Moto X 4.4 root method works so be careful.

Edit

Actually I forgot the root method we use removes the stock recovery (or alters it). So you'll need to reflash the stock recovery in adb or FXZ back to stock. Remember though you may be risking not being able to root.

As far as I'm concerned House Of Moto is the best, most reliable method to restore a phone to stock while retaining your existing apps & data.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ht=houseofmoto

I used it to restore my phone to stock when I took the 12.15.15 update, and just used it again to prepare it for KitKat. Worked flawlessly both times.

EDIT

Now, if VZW would just push the update to my !@#$%^& phone...

Nope. Northern California.

It's really frustrating because I have screaming Internet access at my office, but at home I'll have to download the OTA over LTE or satellite internet, and both have data caps. Wish somebody would just upload the update.zip file.

HoM all the way. My Maxx was 12.15.15 rooted, safestrapped, xposed, gravitybox.

I used the jcase root path - flawless.

1 - MotoWPNoMo (rebooted a few times and confirmed working through adb)
2 - HoM (keep data) back to stock 12.15.15
3 - SlapMyMoto Steps 1 through 3.
3.1 - install from internal storage. adb push extracted update file to /data/media/0 downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=21
3.2 - install update from internal storage in recovery
3.3 - make sure your adb version is .31 or higher
4 - SlapMyMoto Step 4.
5. - Reinstall SuperSU
4G Xoom
