Question [Q] Need help with CM9 Rom Wifi plz!

Hello all! This is my first time rooting and posting! I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1676686 to root the phone, then after unlocking did a reset in recovery, did a full backup, and installed http://d-h.st/Wsy (cm9) as well as gapps ( http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-ics...317-signed.zip). After reboot everything runs great, but I have a wifi issue. When I swipe, it just says turning on wifi and hangs. Nothing ever happens. I checked advanced options, and the MAC address and IP address are "unavailable". It's under Virgin Mobile, currently I have no service active, so I use it as a media player. Can a brother get some help over here? Thank you kindly.

I used the Toolkit that I posted, and the Kernal flashing option is referred to as "optional". Like I said I am a noob lol. Any ideas?
