Default [Q] mess up display

I dropped my phone from my truck on my last run at work. I have display damage in the middle of the phone. When you touch the phone the damage spreads.

But the glass screen (Gorrilla?) is not broken or chipped or anything. I called T-Mobile. Because the glass was not chipped, I'm being charged $5 for a replacement phone. They said I should get it on Tuesday. Hopefully!

T-Mobile says they will confirm that the glass wasn't chipped when I send the original back. No worries there.

But the question is. My phone is rooted. I will be using Kies to restore the phone back to stock.

Do you think I"ll be okay.

Samsung Note 3, rooted
Version kitkat
Recovery: TWRP
Carrier: Tmobile

Kitkat Version 4.4.2
Build : K0T49H.N900TUVUUCNB4

My first love.

I had a similar situation to you.

I dropped my phone on the sidewalk, and while there was some physical damage to the side of the phone, but the glass wasn't damaged at all. However, the actual AMOLED display under the glass actually died over a span of 24hrs, slowly, in a circular pattern, starting from where some of the physical damage was.

Sent directly to an authorized repair place, they deemed since no glass was broken, screen shouldn't have died, so replaced it 100% free, even fixing the actual damage to the exterior as well. All under manufacturers warranty.

As long as you get the phone back to stock, you should have no problems. I didn't even have root, so I'm sure if you get rid of it, you'll be fine.

I am from Canada though. Can't really see that changing anything though.

Good luck with the replacement!
