Question [Q] CWM to TWRP and the CWM Recovery Backup ?

Noob questions.

I've successfully rooted my international HTC One 4.3 Sense 5.5, HBoot 1.55) and made it S-OFF.
Now, I'd like to try out the stock Android 4.4 and Sense 5.5, but I created my recovery backup using CWM and need to switch to TWRP.
I've read that I can use Goo Manager to switch across and it's supposed to be easy.

I'd just like to know, will my recovery backup be readable/usable when I swap to TWRP or would I need to:
1. (wipe cache etc) reload the recovery file.
2. Swap from CWM to TWRP
3. Create a new recovery backup.
4. And finally DL and install the stock 4.4 file ?

Also, would I lose S-OFF, if I restored the recovery image ?
Is the stock Android 4.4. Sense 5.5, technically a "custom" ROM, because it's not available OTA (at least not to me) or it it truly stock and doesn't require S-OFF ?

Thank you for any help and sorry if they're dumb questions.

CWM and TWRP backups are not compatible with each other
if you are switching to TWRP, you must make the backup using TWRP
you will not lose S-OFF using recovery images or whatsoever
hit the THANKS button if helped
