C9603 vs. C6902 + Customization Version
Two days ago I purchased the Z1 from a local retailer (Tel Aviv, Israel), not realizing that it was the C6902.
The problem is that its customization version is 1278-3595_R1A (software: 1272-6084_13.1.G.2.257.)
I hadn't realized that .257 cannot be rooted prior to updating to it because the OS prompted me to shortly after I first booted it up, so I was hoping to downgrade to .535, root, and update it to 4.3, and then install a custom ROM
However, I gather from the thread with all the FTF collections (here
) that no customization versions of 1278-3595_R1A exists. Does this meant that I can neither root nor install a custom OS?
(why I figured this is important: here
In conclusion, I assume that C9603 will get better and quicker dev support
, so should I return my current C9602 and purchase the C9603 online (Ebay) while I still can
Bonus question: why the hell does the C6902 even exists if it's just the C6903 without the LTE?
Better to have it and not use it -- no?
(Note: LTE, or any form of 4G networks, including WiMix, is and will be unavailable here in Israel for the foreseeable future - at least to the general public.)
