Unhappy restore my kindle fire files

Hi All,
This is a desperate plea!!

My daughter deregistered my kindle (the screen was password protected and she tried to break into it and clicked whatever was being displayed it seems. She is only 5 !!) and when I re registered it all my files that I have downloaded the whole year are lost! I got normal books back. However, I have downloaded many pdf books related to all sorts of things, which I normally view using ES File explorer. I had Dolphin and firefox android browsers, which are gone too. Everything is gone now. Is there a way to restore my files ?
I have installed ES File explorer but can't see any of the files.

Many thanks in advance.

Any items available from Amazon will still be available from your Amazon profile. Anything you independently owned will not be retrievable if you made no back up. Did you make a nandroid backup? I would recommend using Titanium Backup from now on. In this situation the items would be retrievable.

Hi Thank you all for yout responses. I am looking for a data retrieval program that can retrieve files from kindle hard drive, especially free. The ones I have tried are not listing Kindle hard drive, though I can see the Kindle in the WIndows explorer after connecting it to the PC.

I will try to do it with Ubuntu..Hope it works. more ideas please?

That's because your PC doesn't have raw data access to the emmc, least I don't believe it does, it uses a mtp connection which is kinda like a network share in a sense. Short of pulling the emmc off the motherboard and soldering it to a USB SD card reader and using data retrieval software that supports the ext4 filesystem I don't see a way to recover the data unless there's a data recovery app in the Google marketplace. Sorry that this is a bit of a downer...
