Question [Q] Unlocking bootloader will soft reset my phone/wipe sdcard?

I finally want to root my Moto G, but i found this warning from Motorola:
Quote:
You will lose all media and content on your device and will need to reinstall all applications downloaded from Google Play.
Anyone who already unlocked the bootloader can confirm this is true for our device?

First of all that's the unlocking of the bootloader. You'll have to root after the bootloader has been unlocked.

Second, yes all content and settings will be wiped when unlocking bootloader. That's why I unlocked my BL immediately when I got it.

Then i need to backup before unlocking bootloader, but Titanium Backup won't work without root and can't root without unlocking bootloader

Does someone know any alternative to TB that does not require a rooted phone?

Edit: I just found Helium app (called Carbon before i think). Seems to be what i need
