Default [q] help please

Hello there,
My galaxy ace plus GT-S7500 have a custom rom (inspiration rom v18) and everything goes well after i flashed this rom.
Yesterday,I tried to edit the build.prop and changing the android version to 5.0.1 and i saved and the phone said "saved successfully"
But when i tried to reboot,THE DEVICE DIDN'T BOOT AGAIN!!! it only boot into samsung logo and keeps restarting.
I flashed the rom again and i solved the problem..
My question is:why did this happened??or what is the mistake that i did???
I am not a junior so i know alot of things,so reply fast please.
Current Device:Rooted Galaxy S IV mini GT-I9190 with official Android 4.2.2:

why the heck you changed the os from 2.3.6 to 5.0.1 (that it doesn't exist?!)
i think that is what you asked right??
so if you change things there without thinking... of course it will brick....
reflash the rom in recovery and ready...but i'm still wondering what were you thinking when doing that....
