Default [Q] SIM Card Removed

I am running Cyanogenmod 11 on my Sprint Galaxy Note 2.
I installed the latest (12/31) Nightly this morning.
Shortly after it booted up, I got the following error message:

"SIM card removed

The mobile network will be unavailable until you restart with a valid SIM card inserted.

Restart"

Under mobile networks, it says “No Service.|Sprint”

I installed the previous (12/30) Nightly, getting the same error message. I have read threads on others
having this problem with other devices, or with the Note2 for other carriers, but so far I have not seen it
here. Has anyone had this problem, and if so have they fixed it? So far I reinstalled the previous rom,
also reflashed the modem, and neither seems to have made a difference.

Okay well, an update. I restored a nandroid backup from a couple of weeks ago and the phone worked fine for hours. So I decided to update the Rom to a more recent one (but not the one I had the problem with) and now I am getting the "emergency calls only" message again! Yikes!
