Default [Q] Help Rooting

I have gone to HTC and unlocked the bootloader with their tool, and tried to root my phone with no change.

When I boot into recovery, it shows TAMPERED and S-ON. I see that this is a common problem, but have not found a solution.

How do I turn S-OFF so I can root the phone?

When you boot into bootloader (not recovery), it shows TAMPERED; does it show UNLOCKED?

-> if yes, what's your hboot version
----> if 1.44 (dated pre June 2013) use revone for S-Off, hboot 1.54+ use rumrunner
--------> with compatible ROM

that does NOT sound right.... that sounds more like a dual-sim or other version; not an HTC ONE M7_UL or M7_U model !!!!!

Be careful!! you are going for a headache!!

you better check your "fastboot getvar all" (discarding IMEI and s/n) to see what your phone is, before proceeding

I have a HTC One S. Not sure where this falls in the various HTC One models as far as designations.

Also, I don't understand what you mean by "fastboot getvar all".
