Hi Guys,
Additional info from further troubleshooting of my GPS issue. I monitored my GPS reception for several minutes with screen stayed on using 'GPS test'. I noticed that there were intermittent instances when, even though there are many, 'In View' satellites (>10 nos), there were zero, 'In Use' satellites (see attached print screens). Sometimes it only happened for a second, but sometimes, it could be extended (up to >10 seconds), before it reconnects. I think it's during this period when GPS connection got disconnected and caused Waze to be haywire. I monitored my wife's Note II, and it doesn't have this occurrances. I'm now starting to think it's either the ROM, or my GPS chip is faulty

On certain GPS chips, make sure the magnetic sensor is calibrated. (My i9000 needed it)

Type *#0*#
A menu pops up, select sensor
Wave your phone like a 8 figure for 5-10 seconds until you see a 3.
