Default Anyone else have heating issues on their T999L?

I noticed after the 4.3 update my T999L gets hot really fast. Like 15 - 20 minutes on YouTube and boom, its hot. Especially during gaming. Now I know all Android phones may get a little warm after being used heavily over a long period but damn, my S3 LTE is like burning. I don't know what it is. I've done multiple factory resets, I've turned off the LTE and just used HSPA+...it still doesn't make a difference but I did notice when I'm using LTE it burns up a lot quicker. Not sure what the temps were but it would be so hot I'd turn the phone off and pull the battery just to be safe my phone doesn't blow up or melt or something.

I have unlimited data so I rely on the T-Mobile network. No Wi-Fi at my house right now.

So it's the modem update on the 4.3 that's causing my T999L to over heat?

I was on CM10.2 on MB7 and updated to CM11 on MK4 without heat issues, even when gaming. But I am on WiFi almost exclusively when I am doing anything that might cause heat issues. Try Airplane mode and see if you still have issues.

I can't do anything on my phone in airplane mode lol. Besides gaming but then I still expect a little heating because CPU still has to work. I play Zombies vs Plants 2 & Angry Birds Go.

Yes I suspect the new Modem to be likely responsible. The 2 games you mentioned may make the phone warm but won't make them hot.

Edit - I guess if you played for quiet a while, they may make it hot...

Right, that's what I mean anything a little intense I expect some heating but YouTube and web browsing seems so basic for my phone to get so hot. Thanks for the response. Can you link me to the correct files? I have the LTE S3 on T-Mobile. I'm stock 4.3 no root. Is it still possible to flash the old modem through Odin still?

If you are willing then you'd need to follow precise steps or end up with a expensive paperweight.

So if you want proceed, follow Post 2 of this thread

Follow the instructions to flash a custom Recovery with Odin. Once done, instead of Rooting with flashing SuperSU, you should flash a correct Modem for your phone from this thread first post. There are 2 modems for your phone.
