Hey guys, I'm trying to install a custom recovery on my phone so that I can install the CW rom. However, I'm getting the error "remote: signature verify fail"

My phone is an HTC Evo V 4G through Virgin Mobile, however this replacement has a Sprint logo in the top right corner of the screen...
Code:
Android 4.0.3
Software# 2.95.652.6 710RD
In the recovery:
Code:
*** UNLOCKED ***
SHOOTER XC SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.58.0000
eMMC-boot
May 17 2012,15:06:44
What I've done so far:
I've been using the directions from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1239821
I didn't use the 2.08 RUU that's listed there because I didn't think I'd need it. I unlocked my phone, signed my name in blood on the warranty loss contracts, and sent over the su-2.3.6.3.zip and the recovery.img. At first I used the recovery that JTNiggle had and encountered the error. Then I renamed TWRP's updated recovery for the CDMA Evo 3D to recovery.img and sent it over with adb. Again, same error. Then I sent over the un-renamed updated TWRP recovery and tried installing that, and again, same error.

The error in question:
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\HTC\HTC Sync 3.0>fastboot flash recover openrecovery-twrp
-2.6.3.0-shooter.img
sending 'recover' (5052 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.183s]
writing 'recover'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 2.018s
I'm all out of ideas and I've been looking around for a while. Can I get some help please?

Are you sure, you're in the right forum?
This is EVO 3D and you have EVO V.

As far as I knew, the Evo V 4G is just a renamed Evo 3D. I assumed it would work just the same

Been a while since I flashed a recovery through fastboot, but I think the command is "fastboot flash recovery recovery.IMG"

Substitute "recovery.IMG" with your recovery image
