Just wanted to see if anyone else has an issue where there is an area of low brightness just above the usb/power port when brightness is below 50% or so. The area remains in both landscape and portrait mode, and is unaffected by a reboot. It is more noticeable as the brightness setting is lowered. Attached are photos of the screen at high brightness and low brightness settings with a white background. I apologize for the quality, but my phone camera was wigging out in the dark a little.

I am running 4.3

edit 2/2014: The dark area disappeared for me and the display is back to normal now. If I had to guess, I'd say it was either a loose connection that fixed itself somehow, or a software issue which was resolved by multiple reboots.

You should return the unit and ask for a replacement.

Yeah, I don't think that will be possible through the retailer (Best Buy) as it is outside of the return period. I can try to deal with the ASUS customer support of doom, though. I am also dealing with a pre-november/december dock that is also giving me troubles.
